 Scarborough is a western suburb of Perth. Its local government area is the City of Stirling. Scarborough is approximately 14 km by road northwest of central Perth. Scarborough Beach is one of Perth's most popular beaches, popular with sun-worshippers and surfers alike.
Scarborough Beach is also home to the Australian national lifesaving competition for the years 2007, 2008 and 2009 which boosted tourism and visitor numbers to the area. Along the beach front are many cafes, fast-food restaurants and a couple of pubs. Scarborough beach front was redeveloped in the 80's and now houses the Observation City complex overlooking the famous Scarboro Beach. The immediate area offers some great local eateries including old favourites such as the Fortuna Chinese Restaurant, La Vela Restaurant and Peters by the Sea.
